LSU SET TO START BOWL PRACTICE ON THURSDAY

BATON ROUGE – LSU will begin its on-field preparations for 13th-ranked Louisville and its Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Lamar Jackson on Thursday afternoon in the first of what will be 12 practices for the Tigers leading up to the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Kickoff between the Tigers and Cardinals is set for 10 a.m. CT on Dec. 31. The game will be televised on ABC. Tickets for the first-ever meeting between LSU and Louisville on the gridiron are currently on sale and can be purchased at www.LSUtix.net.

LSU, winners of five of seven games since head coach Ed Orgeron took over the club in late September, brings a 7-4 overall mark into what will be its 17th straight bowl appearance. The 20th-ranked Tigers have appeared in a bowl game every year since 2000, the longest streak in school history and the nation’s fifth longest active streak.

Louisville, winners of nine of its first 10 games, climbed to as high as No. 5 in the College Football Playoff Rankings before finishing No. 13 in that poll. The Cardinals are 9-3 overall, which includes a 63-20 win over then-No. 2 ranked Florida State on September 17.

The Tigers are scheduled to practice Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week before taking Sunday off to celebrate the season with the annual Senior Banquet, which takes place at 7 p.m. at the Raising Cane’s RiverCenter.

LSU returns to the practice field next Monday and will practice through December 22. LSU will have three days off for Christmas before returning to campus on December 26. LSU departs for the Orlando following practice on December 27.
