Now that school is let out, and some are planning their vacations, high school athletes that want to play in college are searching for camps to attend. Some people know that one of the best way to get noticed by the college coaches is to attend their summer camps. You see these few athletes know that they are not just competing against the guys on their own team, but against the other 1,000,000 high school guys wanting to play college ball.
So who are these camps for? Football camps are for anyone wanting to better their game and show off to the coaches in hopes that they could get noticed. Where are they at? All 12 college teams in Louisiana host camps during the summer. The hardest part of going to camp is going online to find the signup forms. If you are looking for any advice, then take it from me and go to as many as you can this summer. We will be posting camp flyers throughout the summer from the schools but the easiest way is to go to the schools athletic website, search for the team ie Football, then look through the links until you find summer camps. You can either register online or the morning of the camp. The coaches that administer the camps are the coaches from those schools.
If you are interested in going to college on a full ride scholarship, then camps are one of the best way to get noticed. Just think about it, these college coaches get thousands of highlight films a day so if you go to camp, they can put a face with your film and if you show them something then that will lead to them taking another look at your film. There has been a many of times when I have seen a young man with no scholarship offers go to a camp and leave with an offer. So don’t just rely on your “highlight” film and think that is all you have to do to get a scholarship offer.
