The Tulane University Green Wave traveled to Philadelphia, PA this past weekend to play against Temple University at Lincoln Financial Field. Saturday’s game kicked off when Tulane’s Andrew DiRocco completed a 27 yard field goal towards the beginning of the first quarter. At the top of the second quarter, the Green Wave’s starting QB Tanner Lee through a 7 yard pass to WR Teddy Veal for a touchdown. Despite Tulane’s growing momentum in the first half of the game, the Temple University Owls managed to claim a 49-10 victory. Although Tulane wasn’t able to snag a win this past weekend, this past weekend’s game against an undefeated American Athletic Conference contender has definitely prepared the Green Wave for the challenges that they are soon to face up ahead. Going into this Friday’s match up against the University of Houston Cougars, the Green Wave’s defensive squad will definitely be tested, but they won’t be brought to their limits. Recalling last season’s 31-24 victory against the University of Houston’s best efforts, Coach Curtis “CJ” Johnson was able to ignite the determination of his skilled players and claim a memorable Green Wave win. Unlike last year, this season’s matchup between the two will be on Tulane’s own turf over at Yulman Stadium. Pushing through a tough upcoming schedule will be a strenuous journey, but Tulane’s improving play action against their competitors will continue to lead them in the right direction. The overall youth of the Green Wave’s players and the school’s history in the AAC is promising. As the season continues to progress, be sure to keep a close eye on Tulane because as the tide continues to swell, the Green Wave will be sure to roll!
