Vinton High School (Vinton, LA) LB Kortlin Kyle is the eighth official commitment to play in the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be held on Wednesday, December 30th at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana.
“I just want to thank the Lord. I couldn’t be here without him. He has given me the tools to do it and I just have to apply myself to do it. Getting an invite to the bowl game means everything to me and it’s a different feeling. To receive an honor like this means a lot and it just shows that hard work pays off in the long run.”

Kyle earned his invite at one of our earlier camps this spring at Rosepine High School. There, he was recognized as one of the camp’s top performers.

Not only has the 5’10, 200 pound linebacker impress coaches at camps, but he has also done so for the Vinton Lions where he played a big part in their 9 win Quarterfinal playoff campaign last season.
Kyle was a leader as a junior on both sides of the football, especially on defense. Last season, he had 100 tackles, 9 TFLs, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and a pick six. Those gaudy numbers earned him District Defensive MVP honors as he made 1st Team All-District at linebacker and on the offensive line. In the weight room, Kyle is as strong as it comes for his size with a 305 pound bench press and a 535 squat max. The Honorable Mention All-State linebacker may not be the biggest guy, but his physicality, strength, and intensity make him much bigger.
There is no question about Kortlin Kyle’s work ethic as well as he is going to work harder than just about anybody else. He is also not afraid to work on some of his weaknesses in order to get better. With a 3.6 GPA and a 23 ACT score in the classroom, Kortlin Kyle also has the grades of what it takes to play at the next level too. Right now, he already holds an offer from Erskine College, but he hopes another strong season and now a performance in this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game will help him get some more interest from college coaches.
“For me, I am going to work hard wherever I go and I also want it more. For me, I have a winner’s mindset and if I do take a step back or get knocked down, I am going to come back 10 times stronger.”
