Teurlings Catholic High School (Lafayette, Louisiana) QB DJ Kelly is the 12th official commitment to play in the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana. Kelly is the first of eight talented quarterbacks that will be playing in this year’s bowl game.
Kelly will enter his senior year starting at quarterback for the Teurlings Catholic Rebels after playing his previous three years at Ascension Episcopal High School. Playing for the Blue Gators, the 6’0, 195-pound dual threat quarterback showed off his versatility as a Swiss Army Knife.
In his freshman year, Kelly made an immediate impact at both quarterback and wide receiver as he was named Offensive MVP and Team MVP. He also made All-District as a utility player and won the Swiss Army Knife Award. His most efficient performance came in a victory over Breaux Bridge where he completed 9 of 13 passes, ran for 140 yards, and accounted for five overall touchdowns. With the ability to impact the game throwing, running, or catching, he gives the Rebels an exciting offensive option while also making him a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.
“My skillset is at quarterback. I am a dual threat quarterback. I can give you the run and the pass. Not only that, but I have a focus stamina. I get better as the game goes on. I know what I can do at quarterback. My goal is to become the best quarterback in Louisiana. Shoot for the stars and you are going to get to the sky.”

Along with his ability, he is a proven winner as he led the Blue Gators on a game winning touchdown drive in a playoff victory over Kentwood. He has won QB Universe MVP, been recognized as top quarterback prospect by Six Star Football, led his eighth-grade team to a championship, and has won multiple 7v7 tournaments. To add to that list, he was named as one of Gridiron Football’s Elite Camp Top Performers after working with former LSU quarterback Marcus Randall earlier this offseason. It was at that camp where he earned his invitation to play in this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game.

Kelly’s athleticism and a 3.0 GPA in the classroom has already given him not only four college offers from UMass, McPherson College, Belhaven University, and Salt Lake Yeti, but also has received a basketball offer as a dual sport athlete. He is hoping that a big senior season plus a performance in front of college coaches at this year’s Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game will help him get even more interest.
