This month wrapped up another camp season for Gridiron Football with two camps at Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida and Louisiana Christian University. There were plenty of players that were previously invited to the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game plus more invites in front of college coaches. Here is a brief recap of the top numbers and performances from our final two camps! If you want to read about our camps in February, March, and April, click below!
Pensacola Camp:
For the first time in two years, Gridiron Football made the trip to Florida for an elite camp and this time, we went to Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida home of the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and Hall of Fame running back Emmitt Smith. The Florida panhandle showcased some good talent on a hot June Saturday.
For the 40 yard dash, six players were able to hit that mark paced by Escambia 2027 QB/WR Kyron Perry with a 4.56 time. Pace 2028 LB Nathan Wilson (4.69), Escambia 2027 RB James Simpson (4.7), Pasacgoula 2028 DB Kevin Reynolds (4.72), Escambia 2027 WR Javontae Gray (4.79), Escambia 2027 CB Daniel Johnson (4.8), and Bailey Middle School 2031 WR Jamon Tyson (4.9) were the others to make it in the 4’s.
In the shuttle, Javontae Gray and Kyron Perry had 4.5 times while Daniel Johnson had the quickest with a 4.4. Finally, in the broad jump, Perry wrapped up what was an impressive athletic display having the third 10 foot jump of the offseason. Nathan Wilson (9’9), Kevin Reynolds (9’6), and Javontae Gray (9’5) were not far behind with jumps in the 9 foot range.
The camp was an opportunity not only for the players to get some media exposure from Gridiron Football, but also to work in front of a college coach as Mississippi Gulf Coach defensive back coach Clarence McDougal helped work the camp alongside the Escambia coaches. Although not one of the bigger camps, this particular Gridiron camp was an opportunity for players to work on fundamentals and technique. Towards the end of the camp, players got the chance to compete against each other in 1v1s.
Under head coach Mike Bennett, Escambia has been a top playoff contender in the state of Florida and year in, and year out have players participate in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. Four of their players received invitations to play in this year’s bowl game including Daniel Johnson, James Simpson, Kyron Perry, and Javontae Gray. Bay High School 2027 OL/DL Hayden Lowrey also received his invitation to play in the bowl game after impressing the coaches during position drills.
Four underclassmen also impressed the coaches in attendance with their performances. Pace 2028 OL Landon Irwin, Ransom Middle School 2032 RB/WR Brandon Sanders II, Pace 2028 LB Nathan Wilson, and Pasacgoula 2028 DB Kevin Reynolds were named Camp Top Performers. With players from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida being represented, it was good to take a look at some of the region’s up and coming talent. Special thanks to Coach Mike Bennett, his coaching staff, and Escambia High School for hosting the camp and we are looking forward to coming back to the area next offseason!

LCU Camp:
The last camp of the 2026 offseason concluded at Louisiana Christian University in Pineville, Louisiana, which is the home of the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. It was the last opportunity for 2027 prospects to be evaluated for the bowl game while all players got the chance to showcase their skills in front of the LCU coaching staff and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College DB Coach Clarence McDougal. This was the biggest turnout of the offseason with 60 players in attendance at the camp.
At the beginning of the camp, Andy Bryson gave the campers advice on how to approach the recruiting process and what college coaches are looking for in a recruit. After the speech, the players took place to get their times and measurables.
In the 40 yard dash, 13 players ran under a 4.7. Zachary 2027 RB Jeremey Patton had the fastest time of the camp with a 4.47. Peabody Magnet 2027 RB/WR Jonathan Hargrove Jr. (4.5) and East Feliciana 2027 WR Ryan Moore Jr. (4.53) were in the 4.5’s with Jonesboro Hodge 2027 CB Jamarcus Dozier (4.62), Albany 2027 CB Jayden Lapine (4.62), Parkview Baptist 2031 RB Kaiden Monroe (4.63), Barbe 2027 WR Christopher Rideau Jr. (4.65), DeQuincy 2027 DB Landon Joyce (4.65), St. Charles Catholic 2027 WR Evan Duffour (4.66), Welsh 2027 WR/DB Jordan Strong (4.66), Elton 2028 RB Calvin Thomas (4.66), Loranger 2027 QB Braylon Tate (4.69), Northwest 2027 DB Kaedon Jenkins (4.69), and DeQuincy 2028 WR Killian Denton (4.69) rounding up the rest of the quick group.
In the shuttle, 14 players ran under a 4.6 shuttle. Lake Arthur 2027 RB Jaydon Prudhomme had the quickest of the camp with a 4.31. Jayden Lapine (4.35), Killian Denton (4.4), Evan Duffour (4.5), Vidalia 2028 ATH Xavier Walker (4.5), Jeremy Patton (4.53), Tioga 2027 K/P Ethan Bridges (4.53), Calvary Baptist 2027 LB Jacob Tibbett (4.53), Jordan Strong (4.53), Lake Arthur 2027 LB Wyatt Monceaux (4.54), Natchitoches Central 2027 WR KJ Newton (4.56), Ryan Moore Jr. (4.56), Lake Arthur 2028 LB Tyler Campbell (4.56), Archbishop Hannan 2028 WR Graesyn Broussard (4.58), and Braylon Tate (4.59) all ran under a 4.6.
Finally, in the broad jump, 23 players were able to jump nine feet or further paced by Christopher Rideau Jr., who jumped a 9’9. Jonathan Hargrove Jr. (9’8), Bunkie 2027 DE/LB Mitchell Couvillion (9’7), Graesyn Broussard (9’7), Many 2027 RB Daniel Thomas (9’6), Wyatt Monceaux (9’6), Rosepine 2029 DE/LB Levi Kennedy (9’6), Jeremy Patton (9’5), Jaydon Prudhomme (9’5), Jacob Tibbett (9’5), Kaedon Jenkins (9’5), Jordan Strong (9’5), Jayden Lapine (9’5), Alexandria 2028 DE Jeremiah McKinney (9’5), Calvin Thomas (9’5), Evan Duffour (9’4), Landon Joyce (9’4), Xavier Walker (9’3), Kadorian Brown (9’2), Jamarcus Dozier (9’2), Bunkie 2028 LB Trip Larwood (9’2), Sacred Heart 2027 WR Jax Fontenot (9’0), and Braylon Tate (9’0) all were in the 9’s.
After the combine was over, all the players got to participate in individual drills and were able to compete in front of college coaches. Skill players got to take part in 1v1s and 7v7s while offensive and defensive linemen went against each other as well. The camp ended in the always popular tire pull drill.
At the end of the camp, 13 players received invitations to play in the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game based on recommendations by the coaches at the camp. Jeremey Patton, Ethan Bridges, Braylon Tate, Pineville DE Gerald Tatum, Evan Duffour, Elton LB Davin Simon, Southwest Louisiana LB Elijah Keith, Jonathan Hargrove Jr., Christopher Rideau Jr., Kaedon Jenkins, Alexandria DT Quentin Price, Tioga OL Mario Jacobs, and Ryan Moore Jr.
Meanwhile, five underclassmen were named camp top performers from the coaches. Those players were Jeremiah McKinney, Trip Larwood, Vidalia 2028 OT Darius Lyles, Barbe 2028 LB Juilon Rideau, who has been named camp top performer twice this offseason, and Brame Middle School QB Luke Roe.
Although it was a hot day, it was a great way to end another successful camp season as we start turning the page to the upcoming season.
