The Cougars eventually reached the 5-yard line before St. Amant’s No. 97 made a tackle for loss. JFK responded with a touchdown when No. 4 Rashad Jackson found the end zone, giving the Cougars a 7-0 lead.
St. Amant answered on its next possession. The Gators moved the ball with No. 12 Brock Koontz at quarterback and eventually scored on a run up the middle by No. 5 Jourden Hickerson. The touchdown tied the game at 7-7.
