Terrebonne High School Spring Practice

I had the pleasure of visiting the Terrebonne High School Tigers today. Terrebonne had several players that passed the eye test. SR, WR, Brennon Guidry; SR, NT, William Robinson; SR, DE, Jace Wanger; SR, DE, Tyler Nettleton; JR, QB, Keyshawn James; JR, RB, Chaz Ward; SR, LB, Jace Gatlin; and JR, MLB, Colby Clement.

QB Keyshawn James carried the load last season as the schools running back. This season he will be playing quarterback. He will form a dangerous backfield with running back Chaz Ward. They will have a very fast option offence. SR wide out Brennon Guidry reminds me of a Trent Taylor for La Tech. Today at practice he had two breakaway plays where he scored a pair of touchdowns from the slot.

On defense, they have a pair of ends that i think could be really good when they match their playing ability with their size. SR Jace Wanger will catch the attention of DI schools with his size at end. He has times when he shows exceptional play making ability and could play at the highest level. I think he has some maturing to do before he goes to college though. D-end Tyler Nettleton has the size to play inside at the 3-tech. He will need to get busy in the gym this summer for his senior year. Nose Tackle William Robinson has a high motor and also can play at the DI level. Linebackers Jace Gatlin and Colby Clement both are play makers. They both read the ball well and make plays all over the field.

Terrebonne is a young team and has size issues this year on the offensive line. However, I think they will have a great season with the play makers they currently have.
