The Westgate High School Tigers delivered a dominant performance against the Liberty High School Patriots, cruising to a 54-8 victory behind an aggressive defense and explosive offense.
Westgate came out attacking from the opening whistle, consistently applying pressure to the Liberty offense and making it difficult for the Patriots to establish any rhythm. The second quarter opened with false starts by both teams, but the Tigers quickly regained momentum.
Westgate’s offense then erupted. No. 8, Caemon Crockem, broke free for an incredible 82-yard touchdown. The Tigers continued applying pressure on both sides of the ball, scoring again and converting the extra point to take a commanding 28-0 lead early in the second quarter.
No. 8 found the end zone again, making it 34-0 with 5:37 remaining in the half. Shortly afterward, No. 1, Jackson Roberson, made an outstanding catch that helped push Westgate’s lead to 40-0. The Tigers followed with a successful two-point conversion, extending the advantage to 42-0.
Westgate continued its dominance into the third quarter. QB, Noah Antoine connected with No. 1, Jackilon Roberson, to move the Tigers into the red zone, and the pair connected again for a touchdown with only a few minutes left in the quarter. A missed kick followed, but Westgate later added a field goal to make it 54-0.
Liberty finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter and successfully made the two-point conversion, bringing the final score to 54-8.
Despite the lopsided result, both teams displayed moments of sportsmanship throughout the game. Westgate’s aggressive defense, big plays and efficient offense ultimately secured a convincing victory.
