Sulphur High School (Sulphur, LA) LB Wesley Bushnell is the 16th commitment to play in the 2026 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will take place at Louisiana Christian University on Wednesday, December 30th.

At 6’0, 200 pounds, Bushnell was the leading tackler in the state of Louisiana last season with 172 tackles to go along with three forced fumbles and three blocked field goals. Those eye popping numbers put him among the best in the nation and top five among Class of 2027 prospects.
His athleticism, high football IQ, sideline to sideline speed, aggressiveness, and knack for the football allowed him to have plenty of success on that side of the football. While leading the state in tackles, Bushnell has also been a 2nd Team All-District selection and Team Defensive MVP. The Golden Tors’ tackling machine was named one of our Elite Camp Top 25 performers this offseason and received his official invitation to play in the bowl game at our Elite Training Academy camp in Baton Rouge. His 4.19 shuttle time was one of the quickest this camp series.
New head coach David Feaster likes Bushnell’s athleticism so much is that he is putting him majority on the offensive side of the football at fullback his senior season showcasing his versatility.
“Wesley Bushnell is a good example of what we saw on film and like, okay, he’s one of our best athletes. He’s one of our leaders. He’s one of our strongest, fastest guys and all that. We moved him from linebacker to fullback and he’s doing a really good job right now running the ball, blocking, catching, doing all the stuff we need back there.”

With a 3.4 GPA and a 24 ACT score, Bushnell has received offers from Louisiana Christian University and Kentucky State University. His focus is to not only collect more offers along the way but finish his senior season on a high note.
“We haven’t made the playoffs my entire high school career so that’s our goal this year and that is to make it to the second round.”
