Wynter Phoenix is a 5’11, 165-pound WR/DB out of Regina High School, Canada. He has a 3.8 GPA and runs a 4.65 40-yard dash. His playing style is that he’s a deep threat who makes big plays in crunch time. Teammates can count on him to make plays downfield. He’s been invited to play in the Gridiron Football Bowl game.

Julio Jones, I play receiver 

How has football impacted your life? 

It’s given me a lot of opportunities.

What hobbies do you have outside of football? 

I do boxing, track, and surfing. 

Do you plan on going pro with football?

Yea hopefully 

What makes football special to you?

Mainly that it has helped me my whole life, the coaches I get to meet, and being able to compete?

What motivates you to keep pushing when things get difficult?

My family both my parents push me alot

What does being an athlete mean to you personally?

If Im not an athlete im not anything so it means alot

How do you deal with pressure before a game or competition?

I have a breathing program that allows me to visualize and focus on the moment while eating sour patch kids

Have you ever struggled with balancing sports, school, and your personal life?

Yea ive had struggles in the past. I try not to overthink it now. I try focusing on school, football then the gym 

What is your proudest moment as an athlete?

When my team went to the semi-final 

What are your goals for this season?

To win provincials 

Where do you see yourself in your athletic career five years from now? 

I don’t really know right now, but Im trying to focus on my high school career right now 

What would you consider a successful season?

Winning it all and team chemistry 

How do you bounce back after a bad performance or loss?

I say the words reset reset, and I try not to dwell on the past

What is something people don’t understand about the sacrifices athletes make?

For sure, giving up time with family and friends, sacrificing time
